Baby teething can be a stressful time for babies and equally for parents, and there's not a lot we can do to make it go away quicker. Both you and your baby could spend sleepless nights all of a sudden without knowing exactly why, especially as baby teething doesn't start at a certain age in every case. Some babies seem to get over it quickly and easily, others turn from perfect angels into little devils over night.
All we can do is try to ease their discomfort as much as we can and pray that the baby teething problems will quickly go away for the benefit of all of us.
First bottom pair of teeth comes through at around six-seven month (sometimes earlier, sometimes later), followed by the top pair and the other two top incisors and the bottom two, as well. If your babys teeth dont come through after twelve months or show up in a different order, consider talking to your GP. Maybe they can refer your baby to a scan to check if there are any teeth missing or they can check for the levels of Calcium and other minerals in your babys system.
A teething gel numbs the gums and sometimes the tongue of the baby for about 20 minutes, so if you plan on feeding her in the next 20 minutes, especially if you are breastfeeding, it's worth waiting until after.
Baby teething pain may travel through to ears, so if you notice your baby is gently rubbing or pulling his ears it could be a sign of teething, but it could be a sign of ear infection too, so again make sure you check with your GP if you think there's something more serious.
